Oil tanker Ecdis route transfer solution concept has been created and tested between the oil tankers and VTS.
Target of the new concept is to improve safety of oil tankers navigating at Gulf of Finland by transferring routes of the ships to VTS for checking and follow-up.
Concept is currently in limited test usage phase. Next phase will be route transfer functionality concept expansion and further development to achieve benefits via two way communication between ship and VTS.
Route transfer solution is part of Tanker Safety -project headed by John Nurminen Foundation.
