Our parent company Furuno Electric Co., Ltd. was founded in Japan in 1948. The very first product was a fishfinder for local fishermen – the first of its' kind in the world. Since then the Furuno product family has grown to cover all size of vessels – from pleasure boat equipment to comprehensive systems for deepsea vessels. Today Furuno has a presence in most large port cities and ocean-going countries.

Furuno has had a presence in Finland since the late 1960's. Own subsidiary Furuno Suomi Oy was founded in 1991 and in 2002 Furuno acquired Navintra Oy from Aspo Plc. Furuno Finland Oy was founded in 2003, combining Furuno Navintra Oy and Furuno Suomi Oy.
